I have enjoyed reading and writing ever since I learned how. Until 2012, the bulk of my writing centered on fantasy (some of which you can read in the Private Library), yet I felt God's pull on my heart to specifically begin writing something that I was thankful to Him for each day. To help keep me accountable, I began a blog called "A Thankful Heart" and woite each day toward a goal of 1,000 thankful things (a goal that will take nearly four years to complete). At over 500 thankful things, I have had to take a hiatus, but will definitely get back to it!
"My Thankful Beginning ~ A Shift in Focus" is the compilation of my first 100 thankful things into a devotional journal that is meant to aid others to experience the freedom and joy that Christ has bestowed upon me through the practice of intentional thankfulness. I plan to do the same with all 1,000 of my thankful things, thus creating a series of 10 devotional journals, each centered around a specific topic. I am excited to see how the Lord will use my writing!
I came to know Christ as my Savior at an early age, and know for truth that His "lovingkindness is better than life." (Psalms 63:3) I married my high school sweetheart at the age of twenty. Six years later, we had our first child (a son!) and began the journey of parenthood. We just had our second child (a daughter!), which is the main reason for the hiatus.
I have many and sundry hobbies, including singing, writing, knitting, creating "waive" art, and toying with graphics. Once upon a time, I also acted and danced, but I find that adults (especially parents) have this disease called time constraint. Many of the results of my hobbies can be found within the "walls" here at Skye Castle.
Whether you fancy my Poetry or Devotional Journals, my Short Stories or Blog, my hope and prayer is that my writings would be a blessing to you. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." - Romans 15:13
Having finished the walk of displays in the museum, you spy another little door that usually hides information on the side of the reading platform. Curious, you lift it and see a pull-ring.
What should you do?
Pull it and reveal a staircase behind the reading platform that leads to the

Why Nothing New?
For those who have followed me on my blog or otherwhere, you may have noticed a distinct absence in the recent past. This, my friend, is because I have a newborn! Now this is not, of course, the sole reason, but it has had a significant impact on my decision to take a hiatus. I am not done for good, by any means, but I am taking a rest for a wee bit longer to care for my little one. I miss you all, and writing thankful encouragements for you, but the Lord has diverted my ministry for a bit. Hope to see you all soon!
